Fall 2011

It's been a fast and furious fall! I've had a book fair, two authors spoke to FSMS students (thanks Jason Henderson and P.W. Catanese), and I hosted my first coffee & hot cocoa & cafe' mocha drink event on the same day as Ghost Stories of Old Texas (thank you parent volunteers and the Daley's)!! Field of Readers was not rained out after all, and my dad was featured in a video presentation at the FSMS Veterans' Day Assembly on 11/11/11.

I've been juggling so many things, that when I saw this infographic, I really related to it!

New Beginnings - School Year 2011-12

Change. That's what's coming for this new school year, and I want to embrace and grow with the change. I just read an article from the August 2011 edition of School Library Journal in which Doug Johnson, director of media and technology of Mankato (MN) Public Schools, declared to school librarians, "We have no choice but to change." He's talking about school librarians embracing technology more than ever, and that's what I want to do for my students, for my teachers and for myself!

So, students, teachers, parents, let me know what you'd like to see physically and digitally available through the FSMS Library. I'm up for the change! :-)
